Duffy: Shinseki should step aside
“By failing to carry out the mission of the VA, he has lost my trust, but more importantly, that of our Veterans.”
Washington D.C. - U.S. Representative Sean Duffy (WI-07) called for the resignation of Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki following the release of an Inspector General report which shows gross mismanagement of Veterans' care at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA):
"Trust is an integral part of carrying out the mission of our military: If a warfighter cannot trust his commanding officer, the mission fails. Secretary Shinseki, a Veteran himself, understands this better than most.
“Unfortunately, by failing to carry out the mission of the VA, he has lost my trust, but more importantly, that of our Veterans. It is time for Secretary Shinseki to step aside and make way for new leadership at the VA that can restore trust and return our Veterans to the high level of care that they have earned."
