Duffy Applauds Budget Agreement, Thanks Chairmen

"Now that we've shown the American people that we can have these conversations in Washington, we need to have more of them, and I believe we will."
Washington D.C. - U.S. Congressman, and Budget Committee Member, Sean Duffy (WI-07) offered praise and thanks to the Chairmen of the House and Senate Budget Committees for their efforts to break through Washington gridlock and bring forth a Budget agreement that will give much needed certainty to Wisconsin job creators, businesses and families:
"Employers in my District tell me all the time that one of the major issues keeping them from expanding their business and creating more jobs is certainty. This Budget agreement puts an end to the constant threat of government shutdowns and gives businesses the certainty they need to move their company forward — create jobs and grow our economy."
Rep. Duffy went on to commend Chairman Ryan and Chairwoman Murray for their commitment to restoring legislative order saying, "This is the first time in nearly 30 years that a bipartisan Budget agreement has emerged from a divided Congress. Many thought that an impossible task in today's political climate. Both Chairmen should be applauded – and thanked - for breaking through the gridlock and making this happen. This Budget agreement is not perfect. In fact, I have issues with some parts of it. However, I understand, as the Chairmen understood, that in a divided government no one gets everything they want. Certainly this Budget does not answer all of our fiscal woes and more work to reduce government waste needs to be done. However, having a fiscal plan for our country is important and ultimately a win for the American people. This is a good, bipartisan, Budget proposal and I plan to support it.
