Wisconsin Rapids Tribune: U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy to travel district on his bus

Jul 6, 2011In the News

U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy on Tuesday unveiled his latest effort to keep in touch with the vast 7th Congressional District.

A six-seat bus, dubbed a "mobile office," will carry staff members and occasionally the first-term Republican congressman to various locations in the district that spans 20 counties, allowing them to answer constituents' questions.

Duffy, standing next to the vehicle -- about the size of a small airport shuttle -- at his Wausau office, said he got the idea from other members of Congress who use similar vehicles to give constituents far from a permanent office a chance to ask questions face to face.

"So if you're not the biggest community, and you never have a congressional office in your hometown, now you do," Duffy said.

Stops will be posted on Duffy's House website, duffy.house.gov.
