Dear Friends,

I wanted to take a moment to get your thoughts on your ability to access credit.

Responsibly accessing credit is important to working families in Wisconsin and throughout the country. Credit helps families with everyday expenses, auto loans, and any number of unexpected costs.

Unfortunately, Washington red tape has often hindered access to credit for families.

Have you found credit hard to obtain to help with your business or family's expenses? I want to hear about it.

Please let me know how having access to credit has been and will be important to you.

We Must Secure Our Schools

I recently sent a letter to House Appropriations Committee leaders to request funding to protect K-12 schools across the country.

In part, I requested:

"As you finalize the FY2018 Omnibus Appropriations bill, I urge you to include language that provides the funding necessary to secure every K-12 school in the United States. Following the enactment of the Bipartisan Budget Act, we have a significant opportunity to better address the nation’s most outstanding needs. I can think of no greater cause than guaranteeing the safety and well-being of our nation’s children in the upcoming Omnibus."
