Dear Friends,

I hope that you are enjoying your Sunday. I wanted to take an opportunity to share with you some of the things going on both in Wisconsin and in Washington DC.

Let's Make Our Trade Free And Fair

Our nation's workers, farmers, and manufacturers are the hardest-working, most innovative people on earth. When they have a level playing field, they win. Unfortunately, the current trading system is not a level playing field.

As a result, our economy has had to fight with one hand tied behind its back. Our workers and farmers deserve better. That's why I recently introduced the U.S. Reciprocal Trade Act to give the President the tools needed for our economy to compete in a global marketplace.

Let's Unite As Americans

Ever since I was first elected to Congress, I have been honored to attend the State of the Union. Most State of the Union addresses I have witnessed were delivered by President Obama, and even though I disagreed with him on several policy issues, I have always said it's important that we disagree without being disagreeable.

Especially on the night of the State of the Union, we have an opportunity as Americans to unite behind common ideas that make our nation great. I'm hopeful that we can take that opportunity to heart as we engage in policy discussions throughout 2019 and beyond.

This year, I was lucky to have my amazing wife, Rachel, as my date to President Trump's address.
