MORE THAN 60 BUSINESSES ALREADY SIGNED UP TO PARTICIPATE IN REP. DUFFY’S JOB FAIR

WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Congressman Sean Duffy (WI-07) announced today that more than 60 businesses and employers have already signed up to participate in a Job Fair hosted by his office on October 19th in the Wausau area.  The purpose of this job fair is to help connect job-seekers of the seventh district with local employers looking to hire.

“Since announcing this Job Fair, we have seen an outpouring of support from employers and job-seekers alike across the community,” said Duffy.  “I’m pleased that so many job creators have shown interest in hiring and growing their businesses and I hope this event will serve as a positive step toward putting folks back to work.”

The businesses already signed up include sectors as diverse as construction, retail, medical, manufacturing and sales, Congressman Duffy’s office said.  Positions available include part time, full time and hourly.  Additionally, there will be special Veteran hiring assistance available for Veterans in attendance. 

Some of the businesses attending include: Crystal Finishing; American Asphalt of Wisconsin; Marshfield Clinic; Harley Davidson Motor Co. Inc; UW Marathon County; Marathon Cheese Company; and Associated Bank. 

Held in conjunction with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, the Job Fair will also include four, 50-minute breakout sessions that focus on social media, mastering the interview, online job-search, and a special session geared toward displaced workers who are 45 and older and beginning new careers. 

Registration for the event is free for both employers and job-seekers. The deadline for employer registrations is October 14th. Attendees are encouraged to register ahead of time online at duffy.house.gov/jobfair so that a job-seeker packet could be prepared in advance. Registration on-site will also be available and no one will be turned away.
